Crashing on most games after 20 minutes

Hello,

I'm running a Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 board with 4 GB of memory. I am also running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ with a GTX 560 Ti Video Card. I keep getting crashes in most of the games I've been playing after about 20 to 30 minutes or so. I tweaked the fan to run faster after thinking it was heat issues but to no avail. I'll send the crash report. I reinstalled Direct X multiple times straight from Microsoft. I've also updated my graphic card drivers.

  1. whats your power supply? It could be that and also could just be your card.

    try running a game and report your cpu and gpu temps.
  2. That is insane bottlenecking, though what is your psu, and gpu temps?
  3. old board, old processor....... could be a lot of dust on everything ? check heat sinks and fan blades. old weak or under powered PSU for new card ? Perhaps a conflict with on board graphics/disable on board.

    you're computer is shutting down due to the fact your CPU is getting FRIED, you need to clean your HSF and probably re-seat your CPU and put fresh thermal compound on it.

    Thank you for the help. I reseated the CPU and put some thermal compound on it. Saved me 15 C. Games are running good.
