I've noticed the status bar in XP / IE6 is sometimes visible and sometimes hidden. What's the deal? What can I do to defeat Microsoft on this one?

Yeah, it does that for me too! It goes away periodically even if I manually make sure it's checked to be on! What gives?

Where did you find the option to turn it on? Seems like MS has hidden it well. Or perhaps I'm just blind. That happens to me often.

Simple fix! Open a My Computer window! Display the Statusbar! Go to Tools-Folder Options-View and click on Apply to All Folders. Click ok, click ok, you're done!!

It's under the "View" menu, by the name of "Status Bar". :)
