Can i delete program data folder in windows 7

my local disk drive contains a highlighted named program data, i'm i allowed to delete it?

I wouldnt recommend randomly deleting folders if you dont know whats in them or what they are for.

Hey, Have you had a look inside the "program data" folder?

If any of the files in the folder look important DO NOT delete them.

If your unsure and you dont mind posting the file names here, im sure we can tell you if there important =D

Its a system folder so no is the answer...but you wouldnt want to anyway as half your programs wouldnt work afterwards if you did ..lol

My god, this is the second of these in a few weeks, the first went along the lines of
OP I deleted the program data file and now things don't work
- did you back it up, or move the files or take any kind of sensible precaution
