Although i've seen LGA 2011 cpu's all the time, i didn't realize until today that they all have a single hole in the corner of their heat spreader. Can someone tell me what it's for and if it would be bad if thermal past got in the hole?

I also noticed that in an old Pentium 4 Wilmette CPU and that was something I wondered about to.
