$950 Budget for GPU, CPU, and Motherboard - Help Me Waste My Money!

I have $950 to spend on a gpu, cpu, and motherboard for my gaming build. This includes tax. Also, this will be paired with 8gb 1866 ram and the corsair 600T case which i have already purchased. I want the mobo to match my red ram :)

Ewwwww power color. He could always just paint the plastic heatsink cover on the card. That's what I'm doing.

i agree power color sucks but he was so vane as to make a computer around ram sticks :I

here is another gpu but it isn't black and red, the msi one is sold out right now and i usually recommend that

haha the board doesn't have to be red, i know red usually signifies high end mobos, i just don't want a blue mobo

i would have recommended a 680 but it would have brought you over budget and it is not in stock. If you wait for ivy bridge there would be more availability, but there isn't a set launch date most rumors i hear put it late april?

z77 at $150 ivy at $225 and 680 at $500 fits my budget roughly

although, does new tech like this usual have problems when it comes out?
  10. bump
  11. i5 2500k - $220

    ASRock Z68 Pro - $255

    EVGA GTX 680 - $500
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130768

    Total: $975

By time the 680 comes back in stock maybe you can increase your budget $25. That or get cheaper mobo. :D

EDIT: I should make a habit of reading previous posts.. I see some of these linked above.. lol.

I'm 99% certian the cpu wouldn't have a problem, but the board might have a problem. You can stick to the board we all recommened since it supports pci-e 3.0 the only thing is you can miss out on any new features from the z77 chipset(does anyone know what they are?)

check out the asrock z77 series they look pretty cool, and I'm planning on spending around $175 for a z68 extreme 4 or z77 extreme 3 or whatever is at that price
