At the $150 mark I'd look into the evga superclocked gtx 460, it'll outperform that 550 ti

I was thinking about overclocking the 550 ti also.

Even with both at stock speeds, the 460 is better

Really, if you're stuck on nVidia, you might as well bump up to this card - the extra money will be well spent.

sapphire, xfx, gigabyte, msi cards are good. and 6850 can kick 550ti's ass.
nothing wrong with amd, it would work with the 6850. but higher cards might get choked.

i'll put it simple like.

if you're going to upgrade in the next year go intel

then stick with amd.

To be honest i picked it because to me it looks cool and because of the fans/ratings.

And i dont plan on upgrading, im doing this for a school project for my IT class and because i want a decent Gaming Pc

a phenom2 x4 955 is 5 percent better than that cpu

True, True. The grade is not really based on the hardware just if you can build a computer

Superclocked is just a pre overclock lol. Much safer letting the factory do it.
