Update bios for xfx mother boards

Hello,
Hi I have a XFX mother board V02.61 American Megatrends, INC. AMIBIOS VERISON : 08.00.15 AND A PHENOM 965 BLACK EDITION CPU and for some reason the cpu is only putting out 800 mhz instead of the 3.4 that it is suppose to

What are you using to get this reading? The board may throttle down the CPU to save energy when it is not needed.

I'm get this info from inside window in system info and also in the BIOS itself

If you are reading 800MHZ in the BIOS, there is something wrong. It should be at full speed when in BIOS. What is the clock multiplier set at? It should be 17.

Hi again cluthc I look in the BIOS I could find clock multipliers I did see SB to K8 cpu freq it was set at 200 mhz I change to 2600 mhz but it got slower not faster.

If you can't find the multiplier value in BIOS, run CPU-Z and something to get your processor at full speed, like Prime95. Look in CPU-Z for the GHZ the processor is running at and the multiplier value while Prime95 is running. But don't mess with the other stuff in BIOS.

As an alternative, you may try resetting the BIOS to default and see if the speed returns to normal.

I try resetting and it and it did not work but I will try CPU-Z and Prime 95 thanks for your help
