Just looking for some imput for a new build. I'm looking in about the 800 USD range. Any input would help :).

I'm going to be doing some heavy multitasking. Video editing/exporting, audio creation/editing, gaming, hosting small private servers (minecraft with a couple friends, for example), music and video, photo editing. and gameplay recording. Much of it at the same time (2-4 of those listed).

Antec One mid tower

Cpu fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106150
Thermaltake Frio 5 heatpipes dual fans

Now is when i run into a bit of a standstill, i'm not 100% sure either to go with the i5 2500k or a FX 8120.

HIS Radeon 7770 (would go with FX build)
OR

HIS Radeon 6850 (would go with I5 build)

I also have an idea in the air to take an i3 2120/FX-4100 and get a Radeon 7850 if I can.

So, any recommendations for different parts, or witch build route to do down? Thanks in advance!

Go with the i5 - *EASILY*. Any i5 build will run circles around any FX-8150 build. The 8150 has been pretty FUBAR from day one as AMD offloads all the critical instructions needed from the CPU to the operating system, where the Intel build has all the critical instructions needed on the chip itself.

A good 1/2 way point would be the i5-2400, you only need the 2500K if you're going to overclock. If not you can save $70 and $40 on the fan and use that to easily put toward getting a 7850 - that would ideally be the way to go. If you have an exact budget in mind knowing that would help to suggest parts.

Would you say 2500k without question even with all the multitasking? Rendering video while gaming or watching youtube? Maybe even a small private server thrown in at the same time?
I did mention all of them in the main post, but that really is one of my main points of concern.

The i5-2500K has fewer cores than the FX-8150 but the cores are utilized in a far more efficient manner than the FX-8150 is. You might want to read some of these articles which explain the problems that the FX has been having far better than I can:
