i recently built a new computer:

i5 3570k @ 3.4ghz
8gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz
gigabyte z68xp-ud3
Stock cooler
980W PSU
1tb hitachi 6gbs @ 7200rpm hdd
asus 24x dvd burner
acer 21.5" monitor
Windows 8 64bit Release Preview
Sapphire 6790 special edition

When i startup afew programs at a time or run some certain programs like Gigabyte Easy Tune 6,
the computer would just freeze causing me to restart the system.

I havent toyed with anything in the bios. Done virus checks 2x times *avg, malwarebytes, windows defender, spybot search and destroy* and defrag, checked for eras.
Im not sure what to do.
Is windows the problem or a ivy bridge on a 6 series chipset? Not sure.
Espically Easy Tune 6, it stuffs up all the time

Remove your RAM sticks, clean then and put the back properly. Run a memtest...see what turns up :)

Also check all your cables inside the box, make sure they are firmly fixed and fully inserted inside :)
