Is my PSU enough for 2 ATI 6950 ?

Hi experts, I need to know if my PSU 750w corsair

is enough to run 2 Sapphire ATI 6950 for crossfire

My rig is

i7 920 bloomfield d0 (oc'ed to 3.2ghz @ vcore 1.32v)

I am not up on the power needs for Intel any more but I think that should be fine you have 60amps on your 12+ line. I run 2x Sapphire HD 6950(flashed to 6970) on a Rosewill Lightning 800 with a FX-8120 at 4ghz with no problems should be no problem with yours.

Does that mean its not actually safe to crossfire it on my PSU?

I am not up on the power needs for Intel any more but I think that should be fine you have 60amps on your 12+ line. I run 2x Sapphire HD 6950(flashed to 6970) on a Rosewill Lightning 800 with a FX-8120 at 4ghz with no problems should be no problem with yours.

Having 60 Amps on the +12V rail means that you have a max output of 12V*60A (720W) in the +12V, which will be needed for the Graphic cards. And 720W will be really enough for the 6950 and you have the needed connectors for it. But, what you should know before running 6950 crossfire is makes sure you have 2 PCI-E slot at least running at 8x/8x to see the full benefit of crossfireX. Just to tell you, I'm not scared to run 6990 with that PSU, seriously...

Did a quick check with the details you've posted.

494 Watts needed at 90% cpu usage.

I'd say your setup with the 750 Watts Corsair will do nicely.

750w is plently for dual cards. Cards are always rated higher then actual usage

2*6950 + CPU + Misc = 450W + 130W + 100W = 680W

Shouldn't take more than 700W even if you heavily overclock your stuff
