I recently replaced my old CRT TV with an LCD with an HDMI input. My graphics card (MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II GeForce GTX 560 Ti) has an HDMI output. I rarely have a need for dual monitors so I don't normally have the TV plugged into the card (besides, the cable goes across the floor).
My question is: for the few times I do want to run dual monitors, can I safely plug the cable into the vid card with both the computer and TV already turned on and running?
Currently I only plug in the cable with them turned off, which is a big hassle if I'm already using them so I don't often do it when I need to.
