desktop icons

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.customize (More info?)

I cant rearrange the icons on my desktop - they are locked in a grid
somehow. I've tried right-clicking the desktop but the options I want I not
there. I want to re-arrange the icons according to my preferences and not to
some pre-set way.

Hi Wesley,
Thanks for replying- the auto-arrange & lock web item options are all
unchecked but nothing happens. I've also tried checking and unchecking those
items, hoping that it would wake up the system a little. But it is still as
stubborn, it still won't move!

Right click Desktop | Arrange Icons By |
UNCheck: Align to Grid
[[Snap icons into place as designated by an invisible grid on your screen.
The grid keeps the icons aligned with each other.]]

whenever you move them, giving your desktop a cleaner look. ]]
