System restarts when gaming.

Hello everyone

About 2 weeks ago I upgraded my PC from Vista 32bit to a fresh install of Win 7 64 bit. Now when I play BF3 for instance, my computer will shut off within a minute of entering the game and after 3 seconds power itself back on. Once my computer has restarted I can usual play without it happening again. Anyone have any idea on what could be the problem?

This never happened on Vista.

Windows 7 ultimate
i7 2700K @ 3.50Ghz
Asus P8Z68-V PRO motherboard
8gb of DDR3
GTX 580
850W power supply

  5. After a quick google search, I came across numerous good reviews but also a lot of bad reviews mostly of the same issue you are having so even though corsair is a great brand it could be the PSU
  6. Is there a way to test the PSU?
  7. Here is a link to a step by step tutorial:

It gives you the option to do it manually or with a PSU tester
