Alright, so I just bought a new setup. All fine and dandy until i'm attempting to boot the computer. All fans turn on, LED aswell, but after 6-7 seconds it just turns back off. After an additional couple of seconds it turns back on once again, automatically, and this cycle keeps going. Now i've been trying to pinpoint the problem. When I removed the HD6870 (Asus OC edition) the system stayed on and I managed to install Windows etc. and the system runs smoothly on the integrated graphics of i5 2500K.
Obviously the problem lies with the HD6870, but I have a hard time seeing what it could be. I noticed the fans of the card do run along with the other fans in the case, but there's no other sign of life from it. The screen is black and doesn't seem to respond at all.
I got the two 6-pin PCI-e cables well put in, and card sits well too. Screws are in.
What could be causing this repeated shutdown mode that the card seems to create?
