So this is the very first computer I have ever put together. I would love have you guys take a look at how I'm doing. I wanted to make it somewhat cheaper, for sure under $1,000 I wanted to get it closer to $700-$800. My main use for this computer would be gaming, I would like to have it be able to run Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, GW2, Skyrim, and other games like that on some pretty high settings. This is what I was planing on getting so far:

I5 2500k - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0354589

Z68 Extreme3 MB - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0384988

GTX 560ti - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0356463

12GB RAM - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0360528

1TB HD - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0334293

Case - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0343331

Cooling Fan - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0373900

CD - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0322335

Power - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0361423

PS: Is the i5 2500k the same as this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time :)

if you want to lower your cost go with i3-2120. Checkout it on http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115077&Tpk=i3-2120

You should get same performance with most of the games with i3-2120.

your ram selection is all screwed up u wanna pair ur ram so either 2 sticks or 4 sticks so that you run your system memory in dual channel, if u use 1 or 3 sticks of ram u dont run your memory in dual channel reducing memory throughput i would personally suggest 8 gb (4gb x 2)no game i have will use all that, the most i have found bf3 to use is 4.5gb of my 8 gb. other than that the rest looks good
