My system is built except for the graphics card. I was going to wait for the GTX680, but I am unsure if I even need to spend $500 on this card.

I don't play any intensive games right now, but may in the future. I play Star Wars the Old Republic at the moment, that's as intensive as I get.
Is it worth it to wait and buy the GTX680 or will a lesser card fulfill all my needs?
Lesser cards are maybe GTX580? Would an SLI set up work better? Radeon?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

If you do not game much, and TOR is the only game you play, you can get away with a "lesser" card. A radeon 7870 would suffice for your situation. Save yourself some money.

Take a look at the benchmarks here:

I know it isn't for TOR - however Battlefield 3 is definitely a more demanding game than TOR is.

Edit: Also is there a reason you want the I7 2600K? The extra threads the i7 provide usually are only good for photo editing/movie editing/ basically any kind of work that isn't gaming.

You could save yourself some money and go for either the I5 2500K or I5 2550K. With all that extra money you "save" by not getting the high end GPU and I7 processor - you...

One last thing - your ram. I know they look nice and all but I usually don't reccomend people buying ram with tall heat sinks on them. Sometimes they can block certain heat sinks for your CPU. I would go for something like this:
