3d gaming or surround gaming?

im going to be getting a new monitor within the next few weeks and i was looking into 3d or surround, so my question is it actually worth it? i just got the xfx hd 7970 black edition so im pretty sure im good on the gpu. im not really worried about the money, just want to know if the 3d is over hyped or if i should spend the money on 3 monitors instead.

i have the same card and 3 27 inchers and i would never trade two of my monitors for 3d on the third.

I would spend the money on 3 monitors instead of one 3d monitor.

I think its worth it, im building a new comp with 3 24" monitors myself, but the question i would be asking is, can the card handle 3 monitors and still be responsive enough for gaming.
