Hello:
We had to change our modem. Now, the new one (Westell) works fine (we get the internet) except that when I connect the modem to the Cisco (Valet) router, we lose the internet access. Probably we need to reconfigure the router, but I don't know how to do it. Can you give me a step by step instruction on how to do this? I am assuming I will need to username and password for the router. What if I don't remember it... Thank you.

Solution
More than likely the new modem is using a different network than what the old modem did. 192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1.

Best bet is to do a factory reset on the cisco router and go through the setup process again. Refer to you router instructions on how to do this.
