Alright so I'm a big gamer, console and PC, and I have decided to build a really good gaming computer to be my powerhouse command station. I would just like some advice. SO far I have my case, Power supply, and sound card. A necessity for me is to be able to use all of my monitors, I have a current build of 6 monitors at my disposal. I know it's possible to use them all, but i need to know exactly what I will need. I have an Olevia TV to be my main monitor and 5 dell computer monitors, 3 on top of the tv, two on the side. Here is what I have come up with on my own just looking around, please help me out. I know I may need more or different items, just need help. Thanks.

HAVE:
Case- Thermaltake Level 10 GT
Power Supply- Raidmax Hybrid
Sound Card- Rocketfish 7.1

NEED:
Motherboard- ASUS Sabertooth
CPU- AMD Phenom
Ram- G. Skill Ripjaws
Video Card- ASUS EAH6850

**This will be for games Like SW:TOR, Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, Team Fortress 2, and others.

Budget? Also, I wouldn't get a phenom.. and that 6850 is not going to handle 6 monitors.

AMD is behind the performance mark with regards to gaming when compared to intel chips. I would recommend you look at a sandy bridge i5 and complimenting motherboard. You are going to need a crossfire/SLI setup to run multiple monitors, and i would recommend getting a much stronger card with 3GB of VRAM for that many monitors since you will be pushing a high resolution across all those monitors. I've never personally used an eyefinity setup, but I've read about problems with people using different resolution monitors. I also mostly hear about 3 monitor setups for this, but i did read an article on specific gpus from amd that support 6 display pipelines per gpu, so i think 6 monitors must be possible?

With that budget and considering what you already have, you could easily go an i5-2500k rig with a brand new GTX 680.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... GTX 680 (availability is limited for a few more weeks, check also Tigerdirect) $509.99

Total $941.95

This would slaughter all for several years to come. :)

So the GTX 680 is a better video card, capable of running my 6 monitors? and the hyper 212 EVO is a cpu, right? I just noticed that it has a built in fan i guess? You seem like you know what youre talking about, thanks

Yes, the 680 is faaaaar better than a 6850! You will need 2 for 6 monitors though which will break the budget with just those 2 items. You may want to get away from trying to use 6 monitors with your budget. The 212 EVO is an aftermarket cpu cooler. Also, I would recomend watching some youtube vids of how to build a pc.

Yeah I've already watched some vids. Ill be able to do it, so to be clear I need a CPU and a CPU cooler? two separate things?

you will want an aftermarket cpu cooler, 2 separate items. This will keep your cpu nice and cool even when you push it to preform faster for long periods of time.

Alright so now here is what Im getting:
Motherboard- ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
Video card x2- EVGA 02G-P4-2680-KR GeForce GTX
New Power Supply- CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2
CPU- Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge
CPU Cooler- COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO
Ram- CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB

Do you think that will be sufficient?
Also, do I need anything else to make it work? Like a specific CD drive or anything?

And I have 4 optical drives that I want to fill up, whats some cool stuff I can use? Like one of those digital displays or something?

Thanks all.
