Sorry for such a noob question but just wondering if this is normal.

Installed everything except for cpu and gpu and when I power on to make sure everything runs it just turns on ( fans spin, psu spin, motherboard lights up ) for a second then shuts down. Then it repeats this process on its own.

Like I said, I do NOT have the processor or graphics installed yet and just wondering if this is normal. Again sorry for the noob question. This is my first build.

MSI p67a-gd55 main
Coolmax 650w psu
G-skill sniper 1333 2x4gb memory

You can't boot a computer without a CPU.

That's what I thought. I know it won't go into post or anythicng. But I have seen a pc stay on without a cpu. Just making sure that what I'm seeing now is normal.

it should be ok.

for me I would find it not normal when I do the same thing you did, power on, no CPU or GPU but it boots on the monitor win7 with everything else installed then you opened battlefield 3 played online and had 2,000 FPS. then yeah if that happens it's not normal

but to your experience it should be fine
