Prime 95 Max temp?

I just finished the build of my computer, and am doing some basic testing. The problem is, I'm getting nervous about the temperatures that i'm getting in prime 95. While running the blend test, the cpu temps are reaching 70C and above. I have an i5-3550 with the stock heatsink and fan, Asrock Z77 Pro4 motherboard, and 8GB team elite ram. Are these temperatures safe for my processor?

  1. A bit high, but normal. You need an aftermarket cooler to get much better than that.

70 degrees centigrade is perfectly normal for stock operation, and certainly normal with a stock cooling assembly. Temperatures below 90 are generally quite safe
  3. Okay, thanks!
