This is my first build and I am trying to figure out the best way to plug in my case fan. Here are my parts:
Case:NZXT Source 210 S210-001 Black “Aluminum Brush / Plastic” ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H LGA 1155 Intel B75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

PSU:CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

The case only comes with one fan, the rest are optional. My motherboard has a 4-pin header, while the case fan has a 3-pin header. It also has a molex connector. I was wondering if I should plug this fan directly into the motherboard, and not the PSU, or just the PSU. Any suggestions?

yes thats fine. if you are really picky with it, find a way to tie up the molex connector to the wire as a whole with a zip tie or a rubber band or something.

Will do. I also am plugging in the HDD and optical drive. My PSU has two different kinds of plugs that both say SATA on them. Does it matter which of these I use?

your psu should have this plug

which connects to the drives. the drives are also connected to the motherboard with a different kind of sata cable through the sata ports
