My brother bought one of these phones today and he is wondering if it is
worthwhile buying one of those cables that can connect the 7210 to a PC.
Should he go for the serial or USB version. If he gets one of these cables
does it mean he can upload tones and pictures etc. Can you download any
audio file/picture and then convert it to suit the 7210.

Forget the cable, the genuine one is ridiculously expensive and the cloned
cables at best are unreliable. Get an IR dongle such as the MA-620 instead.

regarding these dongles you mention such as the MA-620, is it possible to
get a similar one that works with both Samsung A800 and the Nokia 7210,
sorry for being a pain.

An IR dongle is universal and should work with any phone that has IR.
