Core i5 3550 vs 2500

I want a performance wise comparison. I dont want to OC. Don't care about PCI 3.0. Which is better for gaming?

The 3550, just because it's slightly faster because of architectural improvements (5-10%).

New generations are almost always better, but to what degree changes. The 2500 is the second generation i5 (2000 for second generation) and the 3550 is the third generation. The difference in performance is very minimal between the second and third (5-8%), but unless you find a great deal on a 2500K, I would just grab a 3550.
