3D Gaming

Hi guys,

I just bought a new 3D TV, the Samsung 40" D8000 (UE40D8000) and i have a pretty decent PC. Im interested in trying out 3D gaming. Im having a bit of trouble finding information about how to make my setup 3D without spending £100's on new nVidia stuff. Anyways, if anybody knows a way to get my rig setup for 3D gaming, or knows the cheapest way to go about it please let me know.

Thanks, Jimmy.

My Setup:
AMD Phenom II x6 (T1090)
ROG Crosshair IV Formula, 8GB, Velociraptor 160GB
XFX Radeon HD 5870

  1. Your TV can convert 2D content to 3D.... so it shouldn't be an issue.
  2. Well your card is on the list of supported hardware, I think you need an extra driver for 3D.

  3. 2D to 3D doesn't have the same effect as proper 3D gaming.

Ok, I've updated my drivers for my GPU. I've also downloaded iz3d driver and selected the shutter mode and run the tester which does look like its doing the stereoscopic processing but 1. It looks juddery and 2. It doesn't register on tv as 3d input do I can turn the Bluetooth glasses on?
