Compatibility n5010 6 gb/s

I have a dell n5010 with
2.4 duel core
640 hard drive
8gb ram (upgraded not stock)
windows 7 ultimate

my question is will my computer recognize a sshd with 6 gb/s (factory is 3 gb/s)?

The computer should detect the SSD just fine, but will run at the slower speed, since the computer can't run any faster.

The SSD should be backwards compatible.
