Dual-link DVI to Displayport Adapter exist?

Last response: in Graphics & Displays

hi all,

Am about to purchase 2 AMD 7970s. My 3 Monitors only have x1 displayport, singlelink DVI and HDMI. Meaning to get 120hz on all three i would need a 3rd displayport on AMD 7970 card.

Hence why I am asking: Do dual-dvi to displayport adaptors exist?

i cat find them atleast.

I do see Displayport to dual-dvi adaptors but female/male is going wrong way.

Please help! so confused on how to get eyefinity up.

Why would AMD be so shortsighted is a better question. They're the ones that have pushed Displayport down our throats. Now that monitor manufacturers (outside of Dell) have actually started to make DP screens, AMD pulls a boneheaded move like this.

I'm sure once non-reference boards ship we'll see cards with at least 3x miniDP. Eyefinity 6 cards will hit the shelves at some point and along with the 7990 should offer 6x miniDP.

I question Warhog22's delimma. All the monitors that offer Displayport offer DL-DVI as far as I know. Including the Samsung 750/950 monitors. If that is what he has, you just need to have DL-DVI cables to get 120hz out of the monitors.

The S23A750D offers Displayport and non-120hz HDMI. That's it.
