900$ Max FPS Gaming PC

Hi, im building a new rig with a 900$ and the aim is to get the best FPS possible
case, cpu fan, 8gb ddr3 1600 ram, 500 gb HDD and win 7, and other part add up to------390$
i5-2500k and z68 ASRock mobo with 2x pci-e 3.0, usb 3.0, and SATA 6gb/s equals -------340$
a PNY refurbished GTX 560 round the price to 880$-------------------------------------150$

the first row of parts are non negotiable but the question is can i get better overall game performance by having a cheaper CPU / mobo and compensating with a better GPU that still rounds out under 900$ the idea is for it it to be SLI or crossfire capably and really I like the feature of the z68 board but it is not necessary. Its all about FPS

  1. I put together a build for you. You can always downgrade somewhere if you want to save some money.

  2. I Sid some more research and I found an AMD FX-6100 with an ASRock motherboard with a radeon 7850 adds up just under 900$ but I still wonder how a weaker CPU will impact my performance even with the boss gpu

Which parts did you have in mind?
    I'd really recommend a i3 2120 instead of a fx 6100.
I'll redo the build with the i3 2120 and show you the pricing again.

    EDIT: Here's the build.

If you want to keep all the possibilities for SLI/CF, you can keep that ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 Mobo.

    Here's the build with a 7850. (Still under $900)

  4. Just sayin', I'd recommend DDR3 1600 RAM. It's the sweet spot for i5, and for $10 more, loading times are just a bit faster.

The i3-2120 will run circles around the FX 6100 for less.
