Hi all, long time reader, 1st time poster..

Been looking forward for some time to make a comeback to desktop after acouple years with laptop's..

So i have been looking for parts and realized i need help.. Been awhile (2001) since i last made a desktop.. how things have changed!

Im a new daddy (kid's 10month old), and unfortunatly with this world crisis my finances are not what they used to be, so il be buying afew parts each month, budget is kinda tight, at around 650$ 500€ or 600£ .. Not considering the price of a screen, so around that for the tower.

I plan to buy mainly from www.amazon.co.uk , mostly because the ship for free and good prices overall comparing with Portugal (if only i could buy from newegg :/  )

System Usage - Gaming ( mmo's , bf3 , sc2 etc) ; movies ; browsing..

From what ive read , searched here's what i ve come to:

CASE:

Sharkoon T9 ATX Midi Tower Case Green
This one seems more future proof, as it is Bigger than the Antec.. saw 1antec build seems too tight.. Seen acouple youtube vids, seems like its well made.. dunno opinions please.

Antec Three Hundred Midi Case

Processor: Although AMD is cheaper, from what ive seen, Sandybridge is awesome, I plan on gettin a 2500k in the medium run or jumping to Ivy in about 1.5years

Intel i3-2100 -/- Intel i3-2120 from www.amazon.co.uk Depends on the price diference, but prefering the 2120 as the diference aint that big

Will this be able to run games like Tera or SC2 or BF3 ?

Mobo:
No idea, although, the main issue for me at this point is price, i dont mind upgrading in 1 1/2 years , but i cant have bottleneck on the CPU Ram or GPU performance.. But yea, price is serious issue..

Ram:

Maybe 4gb for starters, going 8gb after the build is done. Dunno wich one though, too many options these days :D

GPU:

Ok from what ive seen at my price range, theres 560ti and maybe the 6850 .. Again opinions please.. Is the 560ti that much better than the 6850? costs like 60£more.. (last one i had was a fx5200 lol woot!)

Asus 1GB Radeon HD 6850 DirectCU PCI-E 2

Asus 1GB GeForce GTX 560TI DirectCUII PCI-E Graphics Card

SLI/Crossfire = No, in the future upgrading mobo will open this option for me, not now.

PSU:
No idea, early 2000's PSU's were big, loud, top mounted and it seemed like they all were at 650w 700w .. these days the components are more efficient so i got no idea what psu i need/should get..

HDD:
No clue, last one i owned was ide and along time ago lol, dont need too much, got a 1t Lacie usb hd for my media..

Screen:
no idea.. my last one was a crt17" lol... around 19-22" maybe? i also have access to a 32" philips hdtv

I think thats it, please enlight me with your choices, and im sorry for any typos, grammar mistakes, english is not my 1st language :)

I wouldn't buy things one by one. Just save up, and buy it all at once. Unless you find a great deal, prices should generally stay the same or go down, so no point in buying piece by piece.

It depends on the card. For your budget, any card that would be ideal for that budget wouldn't need more than 500-600W.

this is what i got so far,

CASE:

Sharkoon T9 ATX Midi Tower Case Green
Im really thinking about going with this sharkoon one, seen the reviews n vid in youtube looks nice..

Processor: Intel i3-2100

Mobo:
No idea, although, the main issue for me at this point is price, i dont mind upgrading in 1 1/2 years , but i cant have bottleneck on the CPU Ram or GPU performance.. But yea, price is serious issue..

ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
(i never owned or even saw in real life anything by asrock so i dont know about quality, looks good though)

Asus P8H61-M PRO REV 3.0

What do u guys think, considering i prefer/like 1gpu systems more than sli/crossfire ones, should i skip some costs here and put em on the gpu? do i loose that much if i dont go z68 and go with a smaller/older chip board?

will these allow me to use 3fans that come with the case i chose? god im so naive to current specs..

Ram:

4gb still gotta choose

PSU: OCZ 500W ModXStream Pro Power Supply

No idea, I think this one will be able to support me in a 1gpu rig right? what do u guys think? ive been thinking and i want a modular one

HDD:
No clue, 500gb sataII or somthin like that, mem prices are so high right now..

Please give me some feedback on the mobo n psu.. biggest concern right now..

The 6850 is nowhere near the level of the 560ti. More on par with the 460 GTX.

G.Skill or Corsair are good Ram brands. The 2100 is 15$ off atm and is a great psu for budget gaming. I'm going with the ASrock. Though Gigabyte and Asus are highly rated boards. The 6850 for sure. Just a 500g seagate barracuda 7200 rpm would work. Main thing for the hard drive is keeping the 7200rpm.

Well i like Lineage2, GW and a new mmo coming out in may, TERA.. One thing that im itching to get back to is fps .. used to play alot of AA:o  , CS Quake and UT .. So im hoping that if i add a powerfull gpu il be able to game with the 2100(i heard it behaves well in games as long as it has a good GPU with it.. )
