Hi, after my laptop died on me i have decided to build a computer, I'm new to this so feel free to rip into me if these parts make up a terrible combination...

Motherboard - MSI Z68S-G43 (G3) Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) Motherboard

CPU - Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Unlocked Processor - Retail

RAM - Corsair Vengeance Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R)

GPU - XFX Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

PSU - Antec 520W High Current Gamer PSU

Case - BitFenix Raider Black Midi Tower Chassis w/ 4x USB3.0

HDD - 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive

DVD drive - Sony 24x Internal DVD-RAM+/- Writer SATA Black Bare Drive

I already have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and other needed peripherals. Also the case comes with 3 fans which i presume is enough.

Do you think a Heatsink will be needed also?

Thanks

Hello Matt :hello:

First off are you going to OC this thing? If your not you don't need the aftermarket cooler. If you plan on OC or Cross-Fire in the future you will need a bigger power supply. I would go with something more in the 700-800W range here if you OC and Cross-Fire in the future, always good to leave a little head room.
Maybe like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153136

As for that Motherboard I could only find it in one place on and it was $120 correct? This one is better and ASUS is more reliable IMO. Plus its only $12 bucks more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131773

Just my 2 cents do with it what you will. :sol:

I'll take your motherboard advice on board as the price different is so little. As for over clocking, i doubt i will at least i have no plans on doing so, but thanks for the advice.

Yes I agree to this to an extent, but then its a locked chip. No chance for OC in the future even if you change your mind. I'd say $30 is a small price to pay when they come out with the next set of chips and you just want to OC yours instead of buying a new system, could get you a little more out of your system before you have to upgrade and at the rate tech grows today sounds like cheap insurance.
