Ok guys I been looking on forums of this site for a long time but only till today I have made my mind up to ask a question. I am now going to take on the responsibility of making a computer for the first time! I need this computer to currently play WoW, css, TF2, GTA, Call of duty, Star Craft II and many others. The reason I need this pc is at the moment my pc cannot run cod or gta it has very limited graphics on starcraft and wow. I want this pc to play on a high graphics on all of these games and be good enough to play with good graphics on any future games that will come out, for example CS GO.

Here are the parts I propose to put together

CPU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FX-Series-FX-8120-Processor... £141.70

Motherboard:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-SABERTOOTH-990FX-ASUS-AM3/... £116.30

Need to update bios http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqLRUZksMgs&annotation_i...

RAM: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9-1600MH... £40.98

PSU: ?

G card: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-11179-17-21G-HD... £132.70

HDD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-HD103SJ-internal-SATAII... £90.00

DVD Drive: Average joe cheap thing.

As you can see there is no psu included because I dont know what one to get taking into consideration wattage and makes and so on, also there is no case as i dont care for that at moment we are just looking at hardware.

Please comment telling me the psu that i should use or any upgrades I can use for cheaper, just your own opinion on it taking into account the games I want to play.

Thanking you for your advice in advance.

If this computer is for gaming you don't need an 8-core FX. The games you mentioned will use no more than 2 cores. With the price of the FX-8120 you could get an i5-2500k and be much more satisfied and your performance will be much greater. I am not an FX series hater, I have an FX-6100 in another machine and I use my Phenom II X4 980BE over my FX-6100 because it performs better in just about everything. You will have to change motherboards to accommodate the 1155 socket I suggested but everything else you posted looks legit.

For a 6870, 500W is just fine.

I would get an I5-2400 because it performs exactly the same in games.

I have no price mark really, but I would prefer it if we stayed 900 pounds tops

I take it the SSD is optional?

yeh its not necessary but for an awesome rig like that you should have a small one to put your OS, web browser, and favorite games on. It makes a big difference.

Well if you get the i5-2500k i suggested it is pretty easy as it has an unlocked multiplier. Heres a good guide for your CPU:
