Is this scsi harddrive backward compatible with Ultra scsi 2 wide PCI card? Or do I must use a u160 card?

Almost certainly. I recently connected two Seagate U160 drives to my SCSI-2 Ultra Wide card (AHA2940UW I think). Under non-RAID configurations, you won't notice a difference between the old card and the U160 cards anyway since these hard drives max out at about 40MB/sec transfer rate. The SCSI-2 Ultra Wide cards have an 80MB/sec transfer capacity, so you already have plenty of headroom.

Ensure you get a drive with the right connector, though-- SCA drives (80-pin) have a connector that contains the power supply leads and is designed for quick swapping. This would be incompatible with an internal 68-pin ribbon cable and separate power supply connections.
