Look at Jacks link if you don't know the difference between SL and DL DVI cables.

I actually get the feeling the issue is with the AMD card and not the cable. I think I remember a different thread where AMD cards are "locked" to 60hz.

My 6950/70's worked just find with DL-DVI at 120hz.

Both ends are Dvi-d

I assume that is not the DL-DVI-D. DVI-D comes in both single and dual link, and it must be dual link cables for it to work at 120hz.

Plug the DVI Dual Link cable into the port on the left side of the rear panel of the GPU.

Look at the GPU's output panel in the back of your system - plug the cable into the left DVI port.

edited here: see my configuration, I'm running two Samsung monitors: a 60Hz and a 120Hz on crossfired HD 4870s.

I got this monitor and using the DP cable with a DP -> miniDP adapter because my 6950s dont got regular DP, does this affect the refresh rate?

It says 120hz in my options, but it doesn't really seem like it. also it only selects 120hz Vertical sync turned ON, in fullscreen, no windowed mode. If I use windowed mode VS on, it caps out at 60 fps, but when I choose fullscreen, it caps at 120hz.
