You can do way better than a Phenom II for the price. It's so old and it's far outperformed by any Sandy Bridge build.

Try this:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 - $59.99 ($10.00 MIR)
PSU: Corsair CX600 - $69.99 ($20.00 MIR)
Motherboard: Intel BOXDH67DLCB3 - $89.99
CPU: 3.3GHz Intel Core i3-2120 - $189.99
RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB 1333MHz 1.5V - $42.99
HD: Seagate Barracuda ST 1TB - $89.99
Optical: Lite On DVD Burner - $17.99
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 - $159.99

Total: $652.82 - $30.00 MIR = $622.82

Absolutely - any Sandy Bridge CPU is infinitely better than any AMD CPU right now - even the Pentium G620 far outperforms the FX-8150. It's true that the i3s and lower end i5s don't have an unlocked multiplier which means you can't overclock but it will be a far better system in the long run. It's also true that the H67 doesn't have 2 x x16 lanes - if your future plans include Crossfire or SLI you could pay about $40 more and get this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271

I just wanted to get quad core, because many games uses 3 cores.
