HD 6770: Sapphire Vapor X VS Asus DirectCU

Hey guys, a friend of mine asked me to help him choosing parts for his new gaming build and I'm currently trying to pick a video card. He has a tight budget so please I'd appreciate it if you can help me choose only one of the 2 cards listed in the title (Asus Gtx 550ti is also an option but he feels that the free Dirt 3 that AMD offers to be very appealing, but i can convince him to go with the Nvidia option if you guys think it offers way better performance/value), Anyway here are the 2 cards:

- Sapphire Vapor X : http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1073&pid=1193&psn=&lid=1

- Asus DirectCU:

Other build specs:
- Core i5 2500
- ASUS P8H61-M LX
- OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w
- 4GB of Kingston HyperX Ram
- CM 690 II Basic

So which one runs cooler/quieter and overall the "better" card? Thanks.

  1. Similar price and will beat either of those cards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161384

But if you must buy one of those, then i like the vapor-x slightly higher clocks. 5770/6770 aren't loud to begin with.

I say vapor-x also. I have it's brother, the 5770, it stays cool and overclocks well.
  5. ok thanks everyone much appreciated i'll go with the vapor-x, btw i noticed the gtx 550ti has 192bit compared to 128bit on the 6770! does that affect gaming in anyway?
