I want to upgrade my gpu and wanted to know if i would get a performance increase with a gtx 580 3gb over an gtx 460 768 sli.
Ive tried looking for comparable benchmarks but have not found many.

my resolution is 1920x1080
Intel i7 950 @ 4ghz
Asus Sabetooth X58
6gb Corsair dominatior Ram
Ultra x4 750 psu

thanks in advance!

I would say the performance would be better or close to a 580 as the 560ti SLI beats a single 580. If you are looking to upgrade I would suggest waiting for the 600 series, they will be worth looking at as the new generation of gpus will perform better than the current ones and will also drive the prices down for the 500 series.

a single high end GPU will spare you from the hassle of two GPUs so my choice would be the 580 or the 7970 ( of course considering the two GPUs you want are somehow old ) that will open you a path do upgrade in the future

after doing a little more research i think i may go with the 7970.i was considering the Gtx 580 over 7970 for the price drop later down the line.but seeing as the price is just a little bit more than the 580 and the benchmarks are better i believe ill go with the 7970.

Not sure if the benchmarks are the same due to drivers.

The GTX680 is going to be the first Nvidia card out and from all the talk it is looking like February and the rumour has it, it will be around 399.00 dollars. Somebody psoted a price chart and I will post it here so you all may see.

This second link is the news on the GTX680. What ever way you go all the cards are very nice and you can't go wrong. Just remember that all the cards have there pro's and con's and everybody has there opinion's bottom line it is what you want to happen, what you feel good with. Good luck to you

with the 7970 you can't really go wrong it's a monster and it's a new tech
(if you are not going to buy any time soon and if Nvidia going to release it's new serious in Feb then yo can wait but if you don't want to it's completely fine and go for the 7970 ) :D
