Hello fellow geeks,

I come across my old stack of games that I'm freaking can't wait to start playing :bounce: but my rigs can't play these properly :pt1cable: . I have need for speed 1-2, Thief, and Quake etc...games. So I decided to build "new" rig for my old games with windows98SE.

I was thinking about Pentium3 ~ 866Mhz(socket370) with 256MB 133 Mhz RAM and Voodoo3 3000 video card. But even that could be overkill. I still have my old Geforce3Ti200 so that can be used for"newer games"

Anyway, just give me some thought.

Thanks Max

Yeah, I have also contemplated building a retro game pc for games like myst.
then again, you could probably just throw an old hard drive into your current system and install 98 on that... might ruin the fun tho. :)

Ohh I remember Myst...I have to look for the CD lol

Well the issue is compatibility with windows 98SE and current hardware, tried install on a different partition already but could not make it run. The latest drivers I could find were for WinXP. And these games don't run well in XP...these games are way back talking 486DX times and the glory of the 1st pentiums...running MSDOS norton commander, win95, and 98.

Good old times :)
