Question about thermal paste.

I plan on getting the H100 to cool a 3700k. However, I do not plan on getting the H100 immediately. Would I be able to run my computer without thermal paste until I get the H100?
Also, what thermal paste should I get?

the stock intel cooler has some already on it. all you do is pull the plastic sealer off the heat sink and apply it to the cpu.
running a cpu cooler without the paste will cause it to run hot. the paste is used to help trasfur heat from the cpu to the heat sink.
