Processor and motherboard

I have a asus p6 x58-e ws motherboard and a i7 2600k lag 1155 processor

Can the processor work because the processor is smaller Than slot in the mothetboard.

The processor requires a socket 1155 motherboard.

No the X58 uses socket LGA 1366, 2600K uses socket LGA 1155.
