Can I upgrade the CPU?

Hello,
I have very limited knowledge of computer hardware and I have an Acer Aspire 6530g. I was told I could however I dont know how I would go about this. Can anybody help me out?

You can, but I wouldn't because that's just asking for a disaster to happen. The other parts of your laptop may go bad, or may not be compatible. Your best bet is to replace a desktop processor.
