Case: ENERMAX FULMO Basic or Advance
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 plus
Power Supply: CoolMax ZU-700B (http://www.directron.com/zu700b.html#caption)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4
Memory: Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III 7200 RPM 16 MB cache
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1 GB

the price is low, i dont want a Super-Gamer pc...

Use RAM rated for 1.5 volt so you dont have to replace it if you upgrade the processor later

You need a 500 watt psu . Antec or corsair are better brands than coolmax

Get the i3. It outperforms the Phenom. It won't overclock though.

Don't get a dual core, in 6 months you could be kicking yourself(or sooner). Stay strong. Make sure you read the reviews on your ram to make sure that people with the same CPU get good results. Thats my advice. If you can afford 2x4gb ram go for that.

Intel beats AMD for performance at every price point.

Dual core has no bearing on whether it will be bad. SB cores are more optimized than AMD cores.

No

The fx 4100 is a much better deal than the i3 21xx cpu's .
Its cheaper , games as well at stock speeds
Is often better in application speeds
and can be overclocked about 30% to increase performance further

The only down side is that running hard out it uses more power . About the same as running a light bulb in your home

My point is that soon games will be taking advantage of 4 cores over 2. Peace.

Yea with they're mid range CPU's like the I5 but....Phenom II's can still compete with some I5's

For gaming, i5 is not "mid range". It is higher-end.

Depends on the i5....... and don't even say a i3 is mid range because they would be the "Low budget "quick buy CPU's

And yet for all this which is better stuff, no-one has critiqued his build or answered his question of whether a 212 will fit his case... funny
I would attempt an answer but I have no experience with either the case or that cooler.

Thats usually the way it goes around here. when most people try to help someone, someone else critisizes their response as if they knew better and it just turns into a debate.

My suggestion. Get Ram with "Low Profile" writtin in the model name or whatever. if Fitting it space wise is a concern

i3 2120 is a surprisingly great cpu.once i was playing GTA 4 on my dad's pc(2120,5770)and i did not experienced any lag.for me,2120 is a good chip.for a budget build,it's your best bet.

Agree with Rockdpm, any i3 is considered a low budget build, well in my eyes anyway.

For SB, there are more low-end CPUs like the G630.

Just like we 3 just said, they are mostly beastly budget CPU's be not up there to compete will all of Intel's stuff.
