Phenom 965 fan

So i recently replaced my 1045 with the 965 and the fan is so much more louder. it goes up to 5000 rpm with my case closed and 3500 with my case open and it is still really loud.

For now i have just underclocked it to 2.8ghz and now it sits comfortably at 2000rpm but i want to buy a new AM3 fan (under £30).

Are there any good fans which people have tested to be quiet and efficient in cooling?

I would highly recommend a Hyper 212 Evo. Unless you need a Low Profile CPU cooler

I agree, the stock fans with Phenom IIs are annoyingly loud.

A Hyper 212 as mentioned is a good and quiet cooler, so are Hyper N520s, the 212 evos are indeed the better of the two.

Do you have Cool 'n Quiet enabled in BIOS? That will keep the fan speed low until it it needs more cooling capacity.
