Xbox 360 Overheating as soon as I turn it on?

Recently my xbox360 disk tray got stuck, so I took apart my xbox properly, and re aligned the tray. I put it all back together and now when I start it, it will power up for about 5 seconds, and then the fans will start blowing ultra fast and I'll get the two red rings signaling an overheat. I didn't touch another except the disk tray, and I did not unplug anything else. Any help on what may be the cause or the solution?

You will need to open the xbox to check if the heatsinks are getting hot, which xbox 360 have you got and when did you buy it?

It's an older model And I'm not exactly sure since it was given to me from a friend so it was already used. I'll check the heatsinks like you said, but it is NOT the newer model of xbox.
