GTG is the response time, meaning how fast it can go from gray, to white, to gray...

Technically response time for an LCD monitor is the amount of time it takes a pixel to change from fully black to fully white. Many manufacturers instead report response time as gray-to-gray response time and there are different methods used by manufacturers to measure the gray-to-gray response time. This discrepancy makes it a bit difficult to make an apples to apples comparison. However, there is little doubt that the lower the response time be it black-to-white or gray-to-gray, the faster images are displayed on screen. To alleviate the issues with reporting response times for LCD monitors, new guidelines will be issued to standardize this measurement in 2006.

BenQ is a decent brade, on par with Acer. I like Samsung more, but it is only a 17" for the same price. Another thing about specs, companies lie about them, some of them lie a lot, so you might want to read up on some reviews for each.
