Strange display issue on Dell N5010

Hello.
I have an Inspiron N5010 15.6' and for about some time now I have this strange problem who's gettin' very annoying:
1. laptop is on battery - I close the lid - goes to sleep - open the lid - the display turns on ONLY if I plug the laptop in!!!
2. (viceversa) laptop is plugged in - close lid - sleep - open - display turns on ONLY if I took the plug out of the laptop.
Power settings:

Power option - balanced (default)
When i close the lid - sleep (on battery and plugged in ).


Intel I5, ATI Radeon HD5400 512MB, Windows 7 x86.


Isn't it strange?
What could it be? Any help 'll much than appreciated.

Try using the display swap hotkey, Fn + whatever the button is for your model.

Still the same! Can't light my display (even with Fn + F3) but if i pull out/in the ac adapter!

Not sure where else the issue may be with this, does not sound like a power saving issue. You can try a BIOS update and check for new drivers for the system as well, could be a fix for this form Dell.
