you need to right-click empty recycling bin

that will free up space to use on hdd,

when data is in recycling bin it still uses up space till you empty it

If you restore recycle bin items they return to their previous location. Moving things around on the same drive is always just a change of addresses.

the recycle bin uses a fixed amount of space on your harddrive. Moving things to the recycle bin will allow them to be recovered later but only if you have space on the harddrive for them to go to.

If the recycle bin gets full or if things are in there too long the system may completely delete them if it thinks it needs to.. depending on which operating system you are using.
