Setting up router through building...

I'm new to business network-ing and I'm wondering how do you set up a port inside of a wall to reach a router in the back? Do you just buy a male-to-female 100ft cable somewhere, and lead it through the wall to a port, and plug the other side into the router? Or is there something simpler I'm missing...

Thanks for any assistance!

the easiest way would be to just use a 100ft network cable male-to-male and plug one side into the router and the other into the computer. No tools required

Your idea would work if you cut one side off and use a wall connector and punch down the wires on that connector. Then use another shorter network cable to connect the computer to the wall connector.
