Hello,
I currently own a Dell Desktop with Dual Core 2.5ghz pentium 4gb ram running vista 64 bit.

The graphic card i have is ati 3450.

Recently, i have gotten into playing flight simulator and i am thinking of upgrading the graphic card to improve performance on addon scenery etc.

I am looking for suggestions, my budget is $125-$150.

Appreciate your help.

First, can you tell us your PC model number?

What is your monitor's resolution, total wattage, and number of Amps on the +12v rail, and is your computer a slimline or regular size desktop? (If you tell us the Dell model we can look up the PSU specs)

you should be able to get a 6770 for that money for pretty good performance.

I think 6770 is a nice choice. But you have to upgrade your PSU atleast 500W Antec.

Thank you. Can you suggest some psu units that are reasonably priced? Can I go for a 6750 to keep all within the budget and still flight simulator at high settings? Again thank you very much for the feedback.

That is my favorite PSU to recommend (mostly because it is the PSU I use right now) because it is an Antec, so the 400w is CONTINUOUS (Other brands wattage numbers are max, not sustained), its affordable, 80 plus, sleeved cables, and a high quality unit manufactured by SeaSonic. Not to mention the paint job is fantastic for a budget unit. 400w seems low, but a 400w Antec is like a 550w cheapo unit.

This is also a really great unit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817371033

With a budget of $125 to $150. Get a GPU that doesn't require extra power. Such as a Radeon HD 6570. Otherwise you'll be way over your $150 budget having to spend 1/3 to 1/2 of that amount on a PSU. If you can do slow upgrades, do a good solid PSU now, then save for a GPU for later.

I think i will buy the power supply first and then upgrade the graphic card in a month or so. I just ordered this power supply as this made the front page of slick deal. Since it said a limited time deal i have not looked into whether this will fit my system.

Can someone please let me know if this will be alright for my system given that i will be getting a radeon 6670 or 6750 in a month or so..

thanks again for the help.

That is a very good PSU. You can even put 6950 on that. But, of course, it depends on the rest of your system spec.
