Hey guys first off I'm a huge nooby when it comes to my PC specs and graphics cards etc. I'm looking for a different graphics card seeing as my integrated one (ATI Radeon HD 4200) doesn't allow me to play many games. Preferably I would like something buy able locally (i.e. Best Buy Future Shop [I live in Canada]). I currently play Dota 2, Guild Wars, Starcraft 2 and Counter Strike Source. (I have to run Dota 2 and Starcraft on very low settings to work however). But I would like to get a graphics card that would allow me to play newer games like Battle Field 3, All points Bulletin, Counter Strike Global Offense, Call of Duty 4, etc. I have a budget of under 100$ and I'm looking for decent performance and visuals!

Thanks big grin

PC Specs (I don't understand much of this) :

I'm running an HP Pavilion (model p6302f) with Windows 7 Home Premium on a x64 bit system.

Monitor: HP 2009 Series Wide LCD Monitor

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4200

RAM: 6GB

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.60GHz

With that PC you are greatly limited by the stock Power Supply and also I would recommend ordering from websites like newegg.com because with Best Buy you are going to pay much more for the same thing example my XFX Radeon 6770 was $109.99 on newegg and it is $180 at Best Buy. Also are you looking to play more graphically advanced games like Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3. And you will need to upgrade your Power Supply to use any "gaming" class video card.

Your power supply unit or SMPS is 300W. It's too low to handle external Graphics Card. You may use this card http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/xfx-xfx-amd-radeon-hd-6670-1gb-ddr3-pci-e-video-card-hd667xzhf3/10179810.aspx?path=933c359263f34a242e92e1a9247efa14en02 - $96 but it may result in unexpected power supply or SMPS failure because the rated PSU for this card is 400W. Also you will not be able to get good performance at 1600x900 (It's your monitor resolution) with this card at such low budget. You will be able to play Battlefield 3 mostly at medium/low settings as it's visually very demanding game. Though COD4 & Counter strike etc. will run fine.

Well you could check newegg to see what they would cost to ship to canada. I live in michigan and newegg is based out of california and my shipping is pretty cheap but the video card I mentioned plays every game I have maxed video settings 1920x1080 resolution and newegg is the only place that I have found that video card to fit your budget.
