Is there any difference between these two cards? Which one should I get? This is for an HTPC build, my first one yet and I'm new to all of this.

Galaxy 43GGS8HX3SPZ GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

ASUS ENGT430/DI/1GD3(LP) GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121397

I see that the Asus card has an effective memory card of 1600MHz, but the Galaxy has an effective memory clock of 800MHz. If there truly is a difference- how much so?

Thanks in advance :).

Thanks for your quick reply :), but for the purposes of learning, could you please perhaps explain the differences and how much of a difference there is? I assumed that since they were both 430GT that they would be the same in performance, though that does not seem to be the case.

There is just about no difference in ANY of the current GT430 cards available. Buy on price or if you have a specific need such as if you need a low profile card for use in a small slim case. Either of the two will do the job perfectly. All the brands that make GT430 cards such as ASUS, EVGA, etc etc use identical GPU's and very similar boards and components so performance wise there would be NO difference between them. I think there is a printing error on the ASUS card. Both cards use DDR3 memory so the speed should be the same.
